Update for Rosslyn Slug Lines – The N. Moore location is no longer in use due to construction. All slugs should now use N. Kent. Arlington County will be contacted regarding updated signage for all lines previously at N. Moore.

Location:

There are two separate slug lines in Rosslyn area serving different destinations. The first, located at 1995 N. Moore St, heads toward Horner Road, Tacket’s Mill, Potomac (Opitz) Garage, Rt. 234 (Dumfries), Rt. 610 (Stafford), and Rt. 3 (Fredericksburg). The second line on N. Kent St. serves Springfield and Burke.

Due to ongoing construction, these slug lines may have been relocated. Look for any posted signs or updates in the area.

Description:

  • 1995 N. Moore St: The slug lines form along the US. 29 – Langston Blvd. (formerly known as Lee Hwy) service road between N. Moore St and N. Fort Myer Dr, about 1.5 blocks from the original location (previously across from the Rosslyn Metro stop). From the Rosslyn Metro Station (west entrance), turn left (north) and walk to the service road. Signs were previously posted to help locate the lines, through it is uncertain if they remain.
  • N. K St: A newer slug line for Springfield/Burke, established shortlu before the pandemic, is located about 100 feet down N. Kent St. on the right, near the speed limit sign.

Best Hours:

  • 1995 N. Moore St: 3:15 pm – 6:00 pm (peak time: 4:30 pm)
  • N. Kent St: 4:45 pm – 5:15 pm

Drivers:

  • 1995 N. Moore St Line:
    Approach via N. Moore St (toward the Key Bridge) or 19th St.
    Enter the service road from 19th St. (the entrance is not clearly marked).
    The service road parallels N. Fort Myer Dr. before curving around to the slug lines.
  • N. Kent St Line:
    Head east on Wilson Blvd. and turn left onto N. Kent St (one-way).
    After picking up slugs – two options:
    • Option 1: Turn left onto 19th St., then right onto N. Lynn St. to reach US. 29 – Langston Blvd.
    • Option 2: Continue on N. Kent St., turn right on Arlington Ridge Rd., then cross Wilson Blvd. to the Rt. 110 on-ramp..

Dropping off:

The main drop-off point for all slugs is the Rosslyn Metro entrance.
