Description:
Horner Lot is the original commuter lot that has expanded over the years to accommodate 2293 vehicles. In 2012, the Telegraph Overflow Lot opened to handle the growing number of slug riders, and the loss of 700 spaces at the Potomac Mills Mall, providing an additional 731 parking spaces. Horner Lot is typically full by 7:00 AM, often forcing riders to park at Tackett’s Mills Lot (Minnieville and Old Bridge Rd), which also fills up by 7:30 am. The Telegraph Lot was introduced to alleviate this parking shortage.
There are two main areas for pick up. The first lot, near the ramp to the I-95, has four lines: Pentagon, Guard Center (new), Crystal City, and Rosslyn. The second lot, near the second bus depot, has three pickup lines: 18th Street, 14th Street, and L’Enfant/Navy Yard. Once Horner Lot fills up, typically by 7:00 AM pre-pandemic, riders and drivers move to the Telegraph Lot, which serves all the same destinations with the exception of Guard Center.
Destinations:
- Pentagon

- Crystal City

Best Hours:
Horner Lot is an early commuter lot, with activity starting from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM. Once full, drivers and riders shift to the Telegraph Lot across the street, which operates from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. these lots are highly popular due to the variety of route options and locations.
Drivers:
Drivers follow a designated traffic flow (as shown on the map) and call out their destination. For example, a driver heading to 14th Street or 18th Street will specify the furthest point they are going (e.g., 14th and L) so riders with all drop-off points up to L Street can join. For the Pentagon, simply stating “Pentagon” is sufficient.
Drop-Off Points:
There are three drop-offs. It is up to the drivers to drop you off at any point. The first stop is the first bus depot, right off from I-95, the second stop is at the second bus depot; and the third stop is the Telegraph Lot. As a slug rider, you can ask if you can be dropped off at the second or third stop, but the driver is not obligated to do so.
